Wrestlution IV - results
On October 29th the World Wide Wrestling League presented Wrestlution IV from the Albert Halls in Stirling. Wrestlution IV will go down in W3L history as one of the most exciting and unpredictable nights in our 8 year history.
The night began with the W3L Tag Team Championships on the line as the longest reigning tag champions in W3L history the Disco Biscuits defended the titles against the accomplished team of William Grange and Dickie Divers the STI (Scottish Talent Initiative). The action was fast passed as both teams fought to leave Stirling as tag champions but the Disco Biscuits reign was not to be ended as Magic Mackie and Freddy Da Funk hit their trademark “Bisco Inferno” double team manoeuvre for the win.
The next match would see a new Women’s Champion crowned as Nikki Storm and Miss Viper clashed in the finals of a Women’s title tournament that had ran through the summer. Viper fought a strong match and managed to ground her smaller opponent for most of the match but Storm demonstrated tremendous heart and resilience to mount a fighting comeback. A sunset slip from the corner nearly cost Storm as Viper managed to maintain her balance and drop down on the challenger but perhaps over confident that the end was near Viper then found herself caught in a small package the resulted in Nikki Storm becoming the new W3L Women’s.Champion.
The third bout on the bill featured the high flying Falcon taking on Paisley’s Adam Shame. Giving up considerable size to Shame Falcon was forced to use a combination of speed and smarts to gain the upper hand however ultimately it was Shames size advantage coupled with some questionable tactics that gave Shame the win. After the match Shame said it was about time he got his shot at the W3L Championship and challenged whomever walked away from Wrestlution as champion for the next Stirling event.
It was then time for the first Last Man Standing match in Wrestlution history as David Paris and Mike Musso clashed in what W3L management hoped would be a match to end the feud between the two. Paris jumped Musso at the bell and the contest quickly descended into a brawl around the Albert Halls. Paris and Musso fought to the stage where Musso hit his “merchandiser”. Paris rolled off the stage but managed to beat the 10 count and get back to his feet only to be knocked down by Musso flying off the stage using himself as a misile against Paris. After surviving a superplex from the top rope Mike Musso found himself unable to defend himself as Paris used an England flag to tie Musso’s hands behind his back. Paris was relentless in his attack blasting Musso repeatedly with a chair but Musso kept getting up. The contest came to a shocking end as Paris shocked everyone by leaving the ring and forcing Mike Musso’s girlfriend Elaina who was sitting front row with her family into the ring. Paris held Elaina by the neck and threatened to break it should Musso not stay down for the count of ten.
The referee counted to ten and declared Paris the winner, Paris released his grip and Elaina hit paris with a slap before moving toward the corner where officials where working on releasing Musso from the England flag that was binding his hands together. Paris then committed the most disgusting act we have seen in a W3L ring by spinning Elaina, who was clearly in shock from the events that had unfolded, around and hitting a devastating neck drop. The Disco Biscuits along with further security hit the ring and Paris made a quick exit as Musso’s arms where released. Paris was lucky to escape as fans and staff where outraged at the events that had unfolded. Elaina was then taken to the local hospital where she was treated for neck trauma. MC John Short spoke with the W3L management team and was instructed to announce to the Stirling audience that Musso would get a chance for revenge as he would compete in an unsanctioned falls count anywhere match with Paris on February 19th in Stirling with the loser being forced to leave the W3L.
The main event of the evening saw the triumphant return from injury of W3L Heavyweight Champion James Scott who competed in a match with Interim W3L Champion Damian O’Connor to decided an undisputed W3L Heavyweight Champion. Following a wild night of action the championship unification did not disappoint as Scott and O’Connor (who was accompanied by his manager “handsome” Jam O’Mally) competed in a very evenly fought contest with both men looking to walk away with both championship belts.
Scott eventually fell victim to the numbers game with O’Mally assisting O’Connor in gaining the advantage on the returning champion. Eventually this double team assault would prove to be O’Connor’s undoing as Scott slammed the Handsome Jam on top of the defending interim champion and delivered an impressive double stomp from the top rope on both men. The referee counted to three and James Scott was crowned the undisputed W3L Heavyweight Champion.
We would like to thank fans in Stirling for making Wrestlution IV a success.
