The World Wide Wrestling League held its first ever Seven Deadly Sins tournament in Stirling this past Saturday. Seven wrestlers would compete in a Seven stage tournament with the winner returning to Stirling ’s Albert Halls to face the W3L Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlution IV. The show also featured a match for the W3L Heavyweight Championship as Mike Musso defended the championship against Darkside.

The night began with David Paris winning the opening battle royal earning himself a bye to the Semi-finals.

It was then time for the first round to begin as one half of the tag team champions Magic Mackie put up a courageous effort against Damian O Connor, however courage was not enough as the stronger Irishman picked up the victory and advanced. Next, "The Real Scotsman" Wolfgang won a victory for him self and for his country as he advanced by soundly defeating the oriental menace Matsuo Kazuma despite attempts at interference from his interpreter Kong Fue. Finally William Grange made his W3L debut in a successful outing against Justin Thorne to earn his spot in the semi finals. However after the match David Paris attacked Grange, targeting his knee. His strategy being to weaken Grange before the semi-finals which would take place under submission rules.

W3L Heavyweight Champion, and a man who has had many an issue with Paris, Mike Musso ran to the ring to chase Paris who quickly ran to the back. This would not be the last time the two rivals crossed paths during the tournament.

The semi finals where then underway as Wolfgang once again defended Scotland on route to the Seven Deadly Sins tournament finals as had managed to gain the submission victory over Irelands Damian O Connor.

A fresh Paris then made his way to the ring to take on an injured William Grange who would have already been at a disadvantage due to Paris earning the bye in the battle royal. A times Grange looked like he would beat the odds despite injury however odds proved to much and Grange was forced to tap to the opportunistic English man. The finals where set, Wolfgang would take on David Paris with the winner going to Wrestlution to face the champion.

Before the Seven Deadly Sins tournament final the W3L Championship was to be defended as Mike Musso was set to defend against Darkside. The match looked to be reaching an exciting climax as Musso and Darkside both looked to apply their finishing maneuvers however out of no where David Paris snuck to the ring and struck the defending champion with his sword that he carries with him. This opportunity was all Darkside needed to hit a neck breaker and pin Mike Musso to become the 9th man to hold the W3L heavyweight championship.

As Darkside celebrated Paris struck Musso several more times with the sword including one final blow to the head. Paris left ringside as Mike Musso lay unconscious in the middle of the ring. Officials helped the former champion to the dressing room however there was at this stage great concern for Musso after the blow to the head.

It was then time for the final of the Seven Deadly Sins tournament. David Paris entered the ring first but before his opponent was introduced made his way over to the concession stand with a microphone in hand. Paris who had moments earlier cost Mike Musso the W3L title and stuck him with a dangerous blow to the head began a verbal assault on Musso’s girlfriend who was working at the stand. The intimidating tirade involved Paris gloating about his actions and bad mouthing the former champions girlfriend.

Wolfgang then hit the ring and the final was on in a match to be contested under Last Man Standing rules. The only way to win would be to knock your opponent out for a count of 10. Wolfgang over powered the English man however Paris then started to take advantage of the no DQ rule. Paris began to assault Wolfgang on the outside and all around the hall. Frustrated when he could not keep the Wolfster down for a 10 count Paris hit a powerbomb and poised ready to strike Wolfgang with his sword as he climbed to his feet. At this point, a still dazed from earlier,  Mike Musso appeared out of no where and stopped Paris from using the sword. Musso gave the Englishman a taste of his own medicine by hitting him in the gut with the sword and nailing a merchandiser.

A small measure of revenge had been gained as the final of the tournament returned to an even playing field. Wolfgang was then able to hit a senton bomb and become the first ever winner of the Seven Deadly Sins tournament as David Paris was unable to answer the count of 10.

A wild night in Stirling which has changed the W3L landscape. We look forward to returning to Stirling for Wrestlution IV on Oct 29th where Wolfgang will face the W3L Heavyweight Champion.
