Paris wins W3L title at Summer Fever - results
21 June 2009
The fourth annual W3L Summer Fever took place on June 13th from the Bowhill Centre in Cardenden. The event was filled with great match up’s and twists and turns that have made for a very interesting W3L landscape heading in Wrestlution 3 on Sept 25th.
“Scottish Sex Bomb” Brad Fusion defeated former tag team partner Highlander to advance 2 falls to 1 to advance to the finals in the W3L British Rules Championship tournament.
Charles Boddington then accompanied Darkside to face Mike Musso in a match to determine number one contendership for the W3L heavyweight title at Wrestlution. The match looked to be set with the numbers game stacked against Musso until 30 stone career killer Invincible was announced as the new W3L commissioner and stated he would also remain at ringside to ensure a fair match up.
Darkside looked to have Musso’s number regardless thanks to hard hitting offence combined with sneaky assistance from the former commissioner. Seeing enough when Boddington entered the ring swinging his trade mark brief case Invincible evened the odds slamming Boddington to the canvas. With chaos all around Musso was able to hit a merchandiser and score a victory via pinfall to earn a spot in the Wrestlution main event.
Scott Renwick defeated Liam Thomson 2 falls to 1 to advance to the W3L British Rules Championship Finals at Wrestlution where he will face Brad Fusion.
The Disco Biscuits appear to be on a roll as of late and Summer Fever was no different as they picked up a win against the international combo of Israel’s Noam Darr and “The Bulgarian Baker” Bozidar Branimir
With the champions DQ ruling waved and the title hanging in the balance Sara defended her title against Carmel. Carmel competed in an exciting match and really had the fans on her side as a title change seemed imminent. Sara almost got herself disqualified at one stage as the referee caught her choking Carmel on the ropes. Sara seemed off guard with her title in jeopardy as Carmel locked her in a submission hold centre ring. Carmel clearly was applying maximum pressure as the ring announcer began to count down the 15 minute match time limit. Sara was able to hang on and retain her title via a draw.
David Paris entered the ring next waving the St Georges cross proudly much to the disma of Cardenden. As champion Wolfgang entered the ring Boddington and Darkside, who was angry at not getting his title opportunity launched a vicious attack against the champion who was struck multiple times with Charles Boddingtons brief case. David Paris then insisted that the official rang the bell and covered the unconscious champion for a count of 3 to become W3L heavyweight champion.
Concerned at the 3 on 1 situation multiple wrestlers stormed the ring to aid Wolfgang who seemed in a bad state after the brief case attack. Wolfgang required the assistance of several W3L roster members to help him to his feet and did not conscious of what was transpiring. Mike Musso then grabbed the microphone and as number one contender challenged David Paris to a defend his title then and there. Paris accepted and a brawl ensued with the two former snake pit training partners fighting all around the hall and even into the kitchen.
The battle came to an end with Mike Musso being attacked by Boddington and Darkside with Paris locking an injured Musso in his cloverleaf despite the referee calling for the disqualification. Refusing to let go Paris was sending a message to his Wrestlution challenger and left the hall with the title held high and letting fans know that his title reign despite its dubious origins was here to stay.
